The 50 immigrants at the Labor Centre of Thessaloniki have been on hunger strike for 21 days now, consuming only water, salt and small quantities of sugar.

Many of them show symptoms of physical weakness, difficulty in standing up, dizziness, postural hypotension, cramps, hypoglycemia.

Today, two of the hunger strikers were admitted to the Division of Internal Medicine of the Public Hospital on duty, due to temporary loss of consciousness. Both remain hospitalized.

The examination of the body mass index of the hunger strikers and of their vital points reveals the expected amount of weight loss and the corresponding consequences for their health.
