The National Coordination of Migrants of the Fiom-Cgil – currently engaged in the struggle for democracy, rights, dignity, against Fiat attacks to working conditions and the freedom of association and for the defence of the National Collective Work Contract – wants to express its deep solidarity and strong support to the struggle of the migrants on Hunger Strike in Athens and in Thessaloniki since January 25th. On the 28th of january all the italian metalworkers will be on national strike and demonstrating in different cities in Italy, where also migrant workers will join their voices, reclaiming dignity and rights.
The hunger strikers’ struggle is also our struggle. As long as in Europe there are workers and citizens with less rights, exposed to exploitation, racism and discrimination, the rights and dignity of all workers and citizens in Europe is at risk.
For these reasons the National Coordination of Migrants Fiom-Cgil will also endorse the European migrants’ strike on March the 1st.
